|"FULL IMMERSION" TASTING COURSE FOR ENTHUSIASTS AND ASPIRING CONNOISSEURS OF LANGHE AND ROERO WINES|
In the Enoteca Patrito tasting room in Via Vittorio Emanuele n.78 in Cherasco, guests are welcomed and the course begins.
Subjects considered: Langhe and Roero morphological characteristics of the soils, ampelographic details of the main grape-varieties, wine DOC (denomination of controlled origin) and DOCG (denomination of controlled and guaranteed origin). Wine tasting methodology: tasting theory and technique (visual examination, olfactory examination and tasting examination), ideal serving temperatures and the wine glasses which are best suited to enhancing the organoleptic characteristics of wines, how to decant wine when necessary, the theory and technique of matching wine and food with the most important rules to observe when serving, the correct terminology to use when describing wine.
During the lesson five excellent different wines representing the areas discussed will be presented for tasting.
Lunch at a characteristic wine bar or inn, where three great Langhe and Roero wines will be served with suitably selected dishes from Langa cuisine. The food and wine combinations will be presented by the Sommelier, who will explain why each particular wine has been served with the chosen dish and will assess the harmony of the combination.
Visit to a winery with guided tasting session hosted by the enologist or proprietor, who will explain the various stages in the production of the three wines presented for tasting.

19.30 hours conclusion of the course.
The course will be directed by the proprietor of the Enoteca, Mr Silvano Patrito, professional Sommelier and official wine-taster of the Italian Sommeliers Association, and may be conducted in any of the following languages: English, German or French.
